International Forwarding
Intermodal Transport
The focus of our business lies in the North-South axis between Scandinavia, Finland, Germany, Switzerland to Italy and vice versa. Here we primarily use intermodal transport. On long routes, the shipments are transported by rail or by ship, lorries are then used for pre and on carriage. The shipments transported door-to-door remain in the same transport equipment, even if the transport carrier changes.
We therefore offer the following advantages:
- Economical
- Higher payload up to 28 tons
- Reduced eco-points, roadway taxes and similar fees
- Punctual and therefore reliable transport
- No traffic jams
- No waiting to cross borders
- Fixed travel times, precise delivery
- Environmentally sound
- Environmental relief, reduction of diesel consumption
- Minimization of wasted kilometres
Intermodal equipment
For transport, crane-compatible transport equipment is required since it is used on different modes of transport (road, rail, ship). We therefore use the following equipment:
- SB (Swap bodies) 7.45 m
- Trailer (Combi-Trailer) 13.6 m
- “Paperliner“ – Special trailers for the transport of paper rolls
Conventional railway transport
The Hangartner Group organises cross-border transport with conventional train wagons, primarily sliding side-wagons, which can generally be rented separately.
Road transport
The Hangartner Group offers national and international road transport for partial and full loads. For our major customers, we develop individual customer-specific distribution concepts and implement them.
In regard to international road transport, Hangartner is active throughout Europe, particularly for North-South connections and vice versa: Switzerland - England, Italy - England and in Austria and from there to South-Eastern Europe.
